Q - Can I send singing videos to receive your feedback?

Q - What method and/or vocal technique does Joseph teach?
A - From Joseph: "Take a listen to any one of the singers I've worked with and the trained ear can tell right away that at the heart of my training method is the bel canto technique, a method pioneered during the Italian Renaissance by none other than Leonardo da Vinci. This foundational technique emphasizes beauty, control, and freedom of expression, empowering singers to produce a seamless, healthy, resonant sound with effortless agility. Its principles are as relevant today as they were centuries ago, providing a roadmap to vocal fierceness that transcends genres and styles. My teaching is further enriched by over 16 years of experience navigating the demands of a high-octane career in the entertainment industry. As a professional singer, I’ve performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages. As a television and concert producer, I’ve collaborated with A-list talent and brought incredible performances to life, honing my understanding of what makes a performance truly captivating. These experiences, combined with my expertise as a vocal coach, give me a unique perspective on what it takes to excel in the spotlight. I tailor every lesson to the individual, blending the classical precision of bel canto with practical, real-world insights drawn from my career and the industry as it is today. Whether you’re preparing for the biggest stage of your life or simply seeking to explore your voice, my goal is to equip you with a technique that supports your artistry, bolsters your confidence, and allows your authentic voice to shine."

Q - What should I prepare before the lesson?
A - This answer is different for everybody. There are no hard requirements (except showing up with a good attitude, no exceptions!). To get the most our of your session, we suggest at least coming prepared with a song or two in mind. If you have booked the lesson to specifically work on a song for an audition, recording, or upcoming performance, or even just for fun, please make sure your backing track and lyrics are uploaded to a Dropbox or WeTransfer link, which you should then email to contact@tourdefierce.vip with a subject that reads TRACK/LYRICS FOR LESSON WITH ‘YOUR NAME’ (if you click the link, the subject should be pre-filled, just remember to insert your name).

Q - I need to cancel... What do I do?
A - In order to receive a full refund, we will need more than 48 hours of notice. We cannot guarantee a replacement slot as demand is so high and Joseph is booked months in advance; these voice lessons online must be scheduled around his schedule. Please do try to stick to your slot as best you can. If you have unavoidable circumstances, please email contact@tourdefierce.vip.

Q - Does online coaching work as well as in person coaching?
A - 1000000% YES! Online coaching is just as effective as in-person sessions, offering the same high-quality instruction and tailored guidance. With the right setup—strong internet, proper camera angles, and a good speaker (see below)—you’ll receive personalized feedback and direction in real time, just as you would face-to-face. Online sessions also offer unique advantages: the convenience of learning from your own space, no travel time or expenses, and access to world-class coaching no matter where you are in the world. Many students even find they feel more relaxed and confident singing in their own environment, which can enhance their learning experience. Here are some best practices for online coaching with Joseph:

  1. Make sure you have a strong internet connection. Your WiFi should be fast and reliable to avoid interruptions during your session.

  2. Having two devices really helps! One device (preferably a laptop or computer) for the video call, and another (like a smartphone) to receive audio, videos, and exercises via email during the lesson.

  3. You should have a separate speaker for audio. Connect a second device to a quality speaker to play exercises and tracks loudly and clearly as you sing along.

  4. Disable your noise filter. Most videoconference software comes with some sort of background noise suppressant; try everything in your power to disable it for our session; otherwise, most of your singing will be filtered out.

  5. Set up a full-body view. Joseph needs to see your entire posture—from the top of your head to your knees! Set up a stand for your video-call device at eye-level for the best angle.

  6. Reserve a comfortable space. Choose a location where you feel free to make noise without inhibition.

  7. Prepare for your song performance (if applicable). If you’d like to work on a specific song, please email the backing track and lyrics (in a document format like Word or Pages) prior to your lesson. Send these via Dropbox or WeTransfer to info@tourdefierce.vip, with the subject line: TRACK/LYRICS FOR LESSON WITH [Your Name].

Q - Is there an age limit?
A - No age limits! Everyone is encouraged to sign up and learn to use their voice!

Q - What if I have no experience singing?
A - Don't worry one bit. It's not about the experience, it's about having the right mindset anchored in hard work and a willingness to sound silly and perhaps go beyond your comfort zone. With these traits, you'll achieve results fast.

Q - Can I bring my friend, manager, etc.?
A - Unless you are under 18, it is strongly advised not to have anyone else in the session with you. Chats with guests in the first 10 mins are fine but after than it is better to be left alone where you can feel fully free to express yourself and try new things without feeling like you have an audience.

Q - Where are your policies listed for vocal coaching services?
