Aida, Metropolitan Opera House

Project type

Opera

Date

October 2012

Location

New York City

Role

Chorus

Appearing onstage in the Metropolitan Opera House in its legendary production of Aida was the realization of a lifelong dream for me. Sharing the stage with the world-renowned mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe, who delivered a commanding and heartbreaking portrayal of Amneris, I became part of one of the most iconic stagings in operatic history.

The grandeur of the Met’s Aida is world-famous: its monumental sets, live animals, and epic processionals have captivated audiences for generations. But for me, it was more than theatrical spectacle — it was sacred ground. Performing in the same space once graced by Jessye Norman, Renée Fleming, Maria Callas, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, and Bryn Terfel was nothing short of surreal. These were the voices that shaped my artistic life, the idols whose recordings I played on repeat, the giants who made the Met the cathedral of opera it is today.

To share the spotlight — and add my own voice to that legacy — marked a defining moment in my journey as an opera singer and stage performer.
